Reducing Energy and Maintenance Costs with Building Automation

ICONICS’ cloud-based building automation software provides energy management and fault detection for the management of large building complexes. This reduces energy and maintenance costs by up to 20 percent. The software can be obtained as an application from the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

The Challenge: Managing and automating large building complexes

Managing large buildings or entire building complexes is a complex task. The basic building systems, especially for commercial properties, include water and wastewater, lighting, air conditioning, heating, sun shading, and elevators. Tenants, as well as property management, also demand visualization and reporting capabilities to be informed of the current status at all times and to implement data analysis, such as detecting leaks in air conditioning or unusually high electricity consumption.

The solution: Building automation with energy management and a cloud-based operations center

ICONICS is a specialist in automation solutions and offers building automation software on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. It helps building management to save an average of 12 to 20% in energy and maintenance costs. The software can process data from any number of buildings and also supports a variety of existing building automation systems.

In addition, there are special IoT edge solutions for building systems that simplify remote device management, reducing travel time for employees.

The fault detection software significantly shortens the time between the occurrence of a fault and its rectification. This reduces costs for the property management and the tenants. Business-critical technology is quickly restored in the event of a failure, so that commercial tenants do not experience any business problems.

The solution can significantly reduce energy costs, as unnecessary or excessively wasteful consumers can be identified relatively quickly. This also applies to faults in the electrical systems that lead to additional consumption that is difficult to detect.
