Automated documentation of BWT's ultra-pure water skids

BWT also provides customers with digital documentation of the components in its own service portal.
The result

When BWT receives its Endress+Hauser products, simply scanning the DataMatrix code attached to each device

identifies it and triggers a document request via Netilion’s API. Netilion then sends the necessary files to the BWT portal

With this process, BWT receives the digital information directly from the API and eliminates the time and work needed to manually populate its portal.

Now BWT customers can access any documents needed for troubleshooting, audits and more.
With the digital data transfer via Netilion Connect from Endress+Hauser, we save the enormous effort of manually compiling the documents of the components.
The Challenge
When receiving a new component, BWT employees had to compile all documents – material certificates, calibration protocols, operating instructions, etc. – and search for them online or scan them to upload to the BWT portal.
In providing this documentation, BWT offers accessible and comprehensive information to customers whenever they need it, for example for audits. Creating the files in the portal usually required a high amount of manual labor which an automated data transfer shall now reduce.
The Solution
This task was a clear case for Endress+Hauser’s Netilion, the IIoT ecosystem designed to make field-device information available anywhere at any time. It’s easy for Netilion to securely transfer data to a partner cloud such as the BWT portal.
The Netilion Connect service even offers a standard interface (API) specifically to enable automatic transfers. Now employees can transfer and organize numerous files within minutes.
Services used
Netilion Connect provides a REST/JSON standard interface to easily integrate data into other platforms. Data security is a top priority, so Endress+Hauser is certified according to the ISO 27001 standard for information security and ISO 27017 for cloud platform security.
